Our Story

We are a collaborative architectural practice focusing on the global interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.
(We make things with friends.)
+EMA operates at the intersection of design quality, climate performance, and delivery efficiency.
We work across borders, assembling teams where they make the most sense - geographically, technically, and financially. This allows us to deliver high-end, climate-responsive architecture while maintaining control over cost, timelines, and buildability.
Our model is simple. Use international collaboration to unlock better outcomes. Design with climate as a primary driver. Structure alliances early so projects don’t lose value through fragmentation later.
The challenges we address, and the way we work, fall into three parts:
1. Scalable intelligence, not isolated innovation.
The industry is full of promising technologies and materials that never make it past the prototype stage. They are either too bespoke, too protected, or too disconnected from real construction workflows.
We focus on methods that scale. Solutions that can be adapted across sites, climates, and regulatory contexts. Knowledge gained on one project feeds directly into the next, reducing risk and improving performance over time.
2. Performance over authorship.
For developers and investors, long-term value comes from buildings that work - environmentally, operationally, and financially. Climate-responsive design is not about image. It’s about reducing energy demand, improving comfort, extending building lifespan, and future-proofing assets.
Our design approach prioritizes performance metrics, adaptability, and repeatable systems. Architectural identity is present, but never at the expense of efficiency or clarity.
3. Collaboration as a delivery strategy.
Most cost overruns and delays stem from the same issue: fragmented teams and late coordination. This is consistent across markets.
We structure collaboration from the outset. Clear roles, shared methodologies, and aligned incentives between architects, engineers, fabricators, and contractors - often across multiple countries. The result is fewer surprises, better coordination, and more predictable outcomes.
+EMA is built for clients operating internationally or developing at scale. We bridge design ambition with construction reality, using cross-border workflows to deliver resilient, climate-aware projects that hold value over time.
Exchange. Methodology. Alliance.
